| 1:22 pm | A relaxing lunch Took advantage of temporarily cool weather (72 degrees! A breeze!) to walk over to Cafe de Wheels' new spot at 5th and Race for lunch. Never seen a line that long at Wheels! It seems like all the publicity about the new food truck spots in downtown Cincinnati have done them well. After we got our food, we walked up a few blocks to Platt Park on Garfield. Nice, shady, cool, uncrowded and blessedly free of buskers. I finally tried the crispy chicken sandwich, which was good, but left me wishing I'd had a burger. It was just good to have a restful moment and to enjoy being outside, talking quietly with a friend. |

| 8:41 pm | Ditto's (.2 mi) It's snowing here. Right or wrong, I decided not to dig my car out now, preferring to wait until tomorrow to see how bad things get. (We've had a couple of inches of snow now, and they're saying more mixed precipitation before it's done.) So I walked down the way to Ditto's, where I'd had a very good meal with D-- M---- last week. Had the Cajun Meat Lover's Pizza (apparently Mardi Gras is lasting all month at Ditto's), and it was pretty good; I'd never had a pizza with an aioli on it before. When I was done it was snowing harder than it had been when I walked there, so I sat, sipped tea and waited. The snow wasn't abating so I got up and started putting on my gear. As I slid my jacket on, something skittered across the table and hid in my napkin. I think it will be a while before I go back to Ditto's. |
